Tailgate and Celebrate: Georgia Goodies Galore

With football season in full swing, we are loving how all our customers style tailgates and tablescapes. Instagram is going crazy for our new Georgia Tailgate Campus Skyline Cups, and for good reason. These cups are customized with an adorable sketch your school’s most iconic landmarks. Plus, they ship right away from Two Funny Girls headquarters, with no wait time for printing necessary. The cups come in sleeves of ten, and are super affordable too! We recommend ordering in bulk for a big tailgate party. Or, simply throw a few sleeves into your custom order for extra game day #goals. Be sure to tag us on social media, too, for a chance to be featured!

The Dawgs know how to bring it on the field, but Georgia fans certainly bring their A-game to the tailgate, too. In this blog, we’re featuring two amazing ladies who are repping UGA in style this football season, and showing you how to recreate their “DAWGgone” cute setups. Keep reading to see how these Georgia peaches tailgate and celebrate!

Georgia Tailgate & Tradition

Before we get into the tailgating treats, let’s talk traditions. UGA’s football team was formed in 1892, and they’ve been crushing rivals (that means you, Gators!) ever since. With such a long-standing history, Georgia isn’t short on southern game day traditions. This SEC school knows how to make a game day into a can’t-miss celebration, and many choose to begin their football festivities at Myers Quad. It’s just south of Sanford Stadium and in the thick of the on-campus action. It’s a great spot to tailgate because of the exciting atmosphere. You’ll find students, parents, alums and fans coming back to campus to cheer on the Dawgs (and maybe even a few ESPN College GameDay broadcasters, for all you serious sports fans out there).

If it’s a Saturday at Sanford Stadium, the Dawg Walk is a don’t-miss tradition. After the pre-game celebrations conclude, students and fans line up in the Tate center parking lot and form a tunnel that greets the players and coaches as they enter the stadium. After the Bulldogs take home a victory, the UGA Chapel Bell in historic North Campus can be heard ringing in the win for miles.

Fans have always loved these celebrated traditions, especially that last one with the Chapel Bell. In 2007, Georgia fans rang the bell to celebrate the 42-30 win over arch rival, the Florida Gators. The excitement cause the 877-pound bell to give way and fall from its support platform, showing that the Dawgs are never short on game day enthusiasm. The Chapel Bell was returned to its post in 2017 and has been ringing stronger than ever since then.

Raise a Cup to the Georgia Dawgs

We asked our Dawg-loving friends to help us make sure we got all the best Athens landmarks before creating our Campus Skyline Cups. You’ll find an homage to all your favorite Bulldog traditions on these cute and affordable Georgia Bulldogs foam cups. These make an adorable addition to your University of Georgia celebration, either on campus or at home. The skyline depicts the Chapel and Bell Tower, the President’s House, The Arch, Sanford Stadium and more. There’s even a tiny “Uga” the English Bulldog in his Georgia sweater guarding the stadium!

Each sleeve of ten 16-ounce foam cups comes wrapped in cellophane and tied with a coordinating ribbon, so they’re ready to give as a gift or take to your Bulldog bash (or graduation party!). This is our most popular size of cup, and is perfect for sipping any hot or iced drinks.

Georgia Peaches & Tailgate Treats

Mary-Caroline, the owner of Just For Me Too, made her Campus Skyline Cups the main event at her morning coffee bar. We love her “house divided” setup with both Clemson and UGA represented by our foam cups. This coffee corner is the cutest way to get in the football season spirit. These are also a great way to kick off an early morning tailgate with some much-needed caffeine.

Meanwhile, Jessica Roe, party stylist, recipe developer and graphic artist at Everyday Party Magazine styled her Campus Skyline Cups into a traditional tailgate, and gave us a few ideas for some game day goodies.

“When we tailgate, I fill crates and baskets with essentials. It makes packing and transporting super easy,” says Jessica in her tailgating Instagram post. “All the adult drinks and @_twofunnygirls_ cups went in a basket, and bags of popcorn went in the soda crate.”

Jessica’s tailgate featured Two Funny Girls cups, some cozy blankets and a DIY decoration. You can download her free “Football & Fall Y’all” printable for your tailgate here.

Everyday Party Magazine is not short on tailgating tips and treats, either. We love the idea of bringing Jessica’s Corn Salsa and chips along if you’re a guest at a tailgate. This recipe is simple, easy to transport (and eat!) and is certain to be a crowd-pleaser. Simply roast corn and peppers, then add raw onion, tomato and fresh lemon juice to complete the dip. Serve with your choice of chips, or add this salsa to a salad or taco bar situation.

Southern Sips

With all this talk about our Campus Skyline Foam Cups, we’re ready the fun part: those “adult drinks” Jessica mentioned on instagram. That’s right, she gave us the perfect boozy Bulldog cocktail: a delicious Bourbon Cherry Cola that is so good it should be on every tailgater’s menu (even you, Auburn fans!). Like Jessica’s Corn Salsa, this yummy drink is simple to make.

In fact, this Bourbon Cherry Cola can be made at the party by guests of all ages (those under 21 can hold the hard stuff and still enjoy an old fashioned cherry soda). Simply make the cherry syrup ahead of time, then set up a DIY drink bar with the bourbon, cola and our UGA Campus Skyline Cups to make SEC sipping a breeze. These cute cups even come in shatterproof frosted plastic for a fun and different look, too. This recipe is so delicious because it leaves out store-bought syrup with fake cherry flavor in favor of the real thing (trust us, it’s still easy to make and seriously worth the extra effort).

For those die-hard Dawgs out there ready step up spirit even further, we have Georgia goodies galore over at the TFG tailgate shop. When making your pregame order, be sure to include a role of our food safe wrapping paper for serving (it’s printed with the state of Georgia in Bulldog red, of course!) and a stack of UGA Personalized Tailgate Napkins (get creative and add your logo, monogram or custom artwork). You can even keep the fun going inside Sanford Stadium worry-free with one of our NCAA-approved personalized Clear Crossbody Purses!
