Planning a Personalized Thanksgiving

Ahhh, the holidays. A time of fun, festivity, friends and family. And also, unfortunately, usually a little stress! Hosting your friends and family for a Thanksgiving celebration requires a huge amount of prep – and we’re here to help. From the food to the table decorations and even the perfect invitation to send out, you’ll be thankful to have Two Funny Girls as your holiday helper this year.

Thanksgiving Day Prep

For an on-theme Thanksgiving, start with some of these adorable invitations from Greetings Island. We love that you can download OR print, so it’s easy to send out a digital copy or go with traditional snail mail. Go ahead and let your guests know the time, location and whether or not they should be bringing a dish. In a time of gluten-free everything, you want to be sensitive to any dietary restrictions, so go ahead and have guests reach out if they need a special menu!

A Festive Thanksgiving Feast

When it comes to the food, you can never go wrong with a few family favorites that seem to find their way onto your table each year. If you’re looking to spice up your spread, we’re drooling over this cranberry prosciutto crostini recipe from Pizzazzerie

Your New Favorite Holiday Cocktail

Let’s be honest. No Thanksgiving feast is complete without a littttttle something to take the edge off. Whether you’re cheering on a football game or trying to get out of another four hour conversation with an in-law, you NEED this Cranberry Moscow Mule in hand. You can thank Mariah with Giggles Galore for this fabulous recipe that we’re planning to sip on through New Year’s!

Cranberry Holiday Moscow Mule

What You’ll Need:

Ginger Beer

Vodka

Cranberry Syrup (1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, 1.5 cups fresh cranberries, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2  orange, squeezed)

Sliced Oranges

Fresh Cranberries

Crushed Ice

Feelin’ Festive:

First step here is making the cranberry syrup! Add all syrup ingredients to a heavy saucepan and bring to a boil for about 10-15 minutes, until cranberries start to pop. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Once cool, strain cranberries and pour the syrup into a clean glass jar. (Mariah’s tip: fill small glass bottles with the syrup and send guests home with a single-serve bottle of ginger beer and a minibar size bottle of vodka!) (TFG tip: also send them home with a sleeve of our Thanksgiving printed Styrofoam cups so they can enjoy this cocktail in style.)

Add the syrup to the ginger beer and vodka and garnish with oranges and fresh cranberries for added flair. Set up a cocktail station with our  personalized soft sided cups and sip in the spirit of the season.

Party Favors, Please!

You did it. You planned and executed the most festive and fun Thanksgiving yet! Guests showed up (on time, in the right place), had stuffing until they were stuffed, cheered on their football team with cute cocktails and you (hopefully) even avoided politics at the table. Whew! Send guests home with fun party favors to celebrate the season. For a quick and easy gift, go with our pre-printed ready to ship foam cups. Pair a sleeve of these with the mini cocktail kit mentioned earlier and you’re good to go!
