Recipes for the Grill Master
What’s a block party without a little summer grilling? Turn up the heat with some of our favorite slider recipes. We love sliders as a grilling go-to so you can experiment with a few flavors that everyone can try! Also… they’re smaller so you can eat more, right? Always a win in our book. It’s important to remember that not all your neighborhood block party goers will be meat friendly, so try to put out a few veggie options as well.
Hot Off the Grill: Barbecue Bacon Swiss Sliders
Recipe courtesy of The Bitter Side of Sweet
What you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 4 slices cooked bacon
- 3 slices swiss cheese
- 6 tablespoons barbecue sauce
- dinner rolls
- skewers to hold sliders in place (we used our customizable drink stirrers!)
Time to flip ’em out:
- Preheat your grill to medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, salt, bread crumbs, and the egg. Mix with your hands until everything is incorporated together.
- Make patties to the size you desire.
- When the grill is ready, brush a little oil to prevent sticking. Place sliders on the grill for 4 minutes then flip! Another 4 minutes will bring them to medium rare, so keep cooking until you’re happy with their temperature!
- For the last two minutes of cooking time, brush on some barbecue sauce, add swiss cheese and bacon, and close the grill lid until cheese has melted.
- Remove your sliders and enjoy!
